In the name of God the most gracious, the most merciful, and prayers and peace be upon our prophet Muhammad and his family and all his companions.
Due to great development taking place in medical education which is considered mainstay of medical student education, and the diversity of its methods and tools in the world including clinical skill laboratories, and learning based on simulation and virtual patients.
After the issuance of the unified guide for studies in medical colleges which approved teaching of clinical skills as a basic subject for fourth-year students. The faculty of medicine at gharyan university established a clinical skills laboratory and provided it with the necessary equipment.
This will contribute to the qualification of students to acquire various basic skills and competencies necessary for safe and effective medical practice in the future.

Description
The department was established in the academic year 2022-2023 and it is one the scientific departments created in the college and in implementation of the decision of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research to unify the curricula in medical colleges. Clinical skills are taught in the fourth year of the third stage of medical education.
Vision
We strive for excellence and leadership locally and globally in the field of medical education and training in clinical and soft skills that a doctor needs to acquire in order to build the character of a doctor who can compete in the labor market locally and globally.
Mission
Graduated a doctor who possesses the clinical and soft skills that make him able to compete in the local and global labor market through the ability to study and develop his personality, master clinical skills, leadership skills, and craftsmanship, and instill the spirit of work in a team.
Goals
1. Graduating a doctor who has the ability and competence to deal with health and psychological problems with all competence and professionalism and who can be relied upon to make health decisions and procedures for the benefit of the patient, adhering to medical ethics and etiquette.
2. Training students to take a medical history, clinical examination , and perform clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutics procedures in a safe environment for students and patients.
3. Applying a new strategy in medical education by making the student the focus of education and training ( student center) and introducing interactive methods for education and training (interactive learning).
4. Applying curriculum integration by introducing clinical skills in the first years of study and make the basic curricula more enjoyable and beneficial when applied in the clinical skills center
5. Introducing and tightening the patient protection (patient safety) approach recommended by WHO.
6. Introducing and applying the craftsmanship approach (professionalism)that was recommended by WHO.
7. Developing he student's personality by introducing soft skills such as personality development and leadership skills, as well as building and teamwork skills, communication skills, use of time, dealing with stress, solving dilemmas, decision making skills and applying work place etiquette.
